"The Healer" (Nexflix - Argentina)

I watched on Netflix the Polish movie 'The Healer'. 

I thought it was beautiful, with excellent photography and a setting that I assume is in the 1920s. One of the questions that comes up when watching the film is how we remember when we suffer from amnesia. T

he plot revolves around a brilliant surgeon who has made extraordinary contributions to the field of surgery. 

This surgeon is attacked in the dark streets of Poland, and a colleague who witnesses the attack decides not to help him, believing that the surgeon's death would benefit him. 

The police leave the brilliant surgeon for dead. 

As the years go by, this disheveled man with no memory reappears in a village and begins to heal people, although he does not know why. Eventually, it becomes clear that the genius of his medical skills is still intact, even though his rational mind has no memory of who he is. 

The film raises an interesting idea and is worth watching to reflect on these issues. 

One memorable scene is early in the film, where the surgeon performs meticulous and careful surgery.
